Why does my Shopify store need a mobile app if I already have a mobile website?

A mobile website has to be found again every single time. An app sits on the home screen, stays logged in, keeps the cart, and can be reached with a push notification at no media cost. The website is where you meet a customer; the app is where you keep them. Most stores are not short of first visits — they are short of second ones.

Does the app replace my Shopify store?

No. It runs on top of it. Shopify stays your single source of truth for products, collections, inventory, customers and orders. App orders land in the same Shopify admin, and checkout is Shopify checkout, so your payment providers, taxes, discounts and shipping rules all behave exactly as they do today.

How long does it take to launch?

Do I need a developer, or any technical work on my side?
