Live shopping or short-form video — which is better?
Short-form for reach, live for conversion. They answer different questions and the mistake is choosing between them rather than sequencing them.
The reasoning
The workable pattern is short clips to build an audience and a live session to sell to it. A live stream to nobody is an hour spent talking to a wall, and clips alone rarely close anything.
What most people get wrong
Recorded short-form outperforms live for most small stores: the same content, none of the scheduling, and it keeps working.
Live shopping works where a product has to be seen moving, worn or demonstrated. It does almost nothing for a spare part.
The format is not new anywhere except the West — it has been the default in parts of Asia for years, and the mechanics are settled.
How an app changes it
TicApp built a live shopping tab into Eleganza La Mode — buyable video inside the app, on both stores since December 2025.
